Here is my persuasive writing to go on the Hourota Waka, by Jade.

Dear my fellow chiefs,

If I got chosen to go on the Horouta Waka I would protect my iwi and strive for excellence the whole time, ( even if times get rough. )

Here are my persuasive ideas to have the honor to be aboard the waka.

It would be a thrilling adventure to find fresh, green, luscious, untouched land and I would risk my life for the chance to find land and call it our home.

If I were to go on the waka I would work all day every day thriving for success.

Firstly, these are the qualities I could bring to the, I would risk my life for the chance of finding land, I would be grateful for every second on the Horouta Waka, I would be a hard working crew member and I would even appreciate the honor to guard the kuramars.

Secondly, I would be a hard working participant for at least a knot tying job on the Waka, If I get asked for a day of work at the farm the answer would be a definite yes, I would be keeping up and participating in everything that occurs.

Lastly, I am also a great swimmer and I have won lots of medals and surf life saving competitions. That is a great quality because if someone goes overboard I could save them.

Since you're a good chief aren't you? Well would you choose me to go on the Horouta Waka?

Here is my Tinker cad.

Here is my aviation museum reflection.

 Aviation Museum Report.

This is one of the rescue helicopters.

This is us looking at one of the fake planes that they used in a movie called Shadow Cloud.

At the aviation museum we learned about flight, in term one we were asking questions about flight like how it works and when the first plane was made, and we finally got to answer them.

Duane took us round in a group looking at the different planes and explaining how many engines they had and all of that stuff.

There was this big plane and each group had a turn to go up on it, the wood planks on the base were unstable and it was nerve racking walking up to the top. There was old seats and rust indented in the sides.

The plane was frightening because it was set up on a slope.

We poked our heads out to Mrs Toon and she took a photo while there was a 15 foot drop ( estimated. )

My favourite part was looking at the Tiger Moth. It was the coolest because it was one of the two planes that could actually still fly.

Once we had finished the tour, we said thank you and a big goodbye to the instructors.

Here is my instructions for my sandwich.

 The Bacon Buster.

Rater 9+ or PG.

Here's how to make the most delicious soft and tasteful sandwich that will blast your taste buds off!

My goal is to create more of a beginning and an ending.

Ingredients:             Equipment:

1.Avocado.              1.Pan.

2.Shaved Ham.       2.Plate.

3.Bacon.                  3.Knife.

4.Tomato.                4.Chopping board.

5.Butter.

6.White bread.

7.Oil

    Method,

  1. First place your pan on the stove and put the heat on medium, once heated up put oil on the pan so the bacon doesn't stick.

  2. Add 2 pieces of streaky bacon and cook for 5-15 minutes with a lid on top of the pan.

  3. While the bacon is cooking, get out two pieces of white bread, softly spread butter across one piece of bread and leave the other plain.

  4. Cut open an avocado and spread a thick layer of it over the bread with butter.

  5. Thinly slice one ripe tomato to fit across the bread buttered.

  6. Flip over the bacon when one side is crispy.

  7. Get out the shaved ham and place a thick layer of ham over the other toppings, on the slice of bread.

  8. Finally get the bacon out of the pan once crispy and place on the sandwich, turn the pan off and place the sandwich on the chopping board, and slice it in half and place it on a plate and enjoy!

Here is my explanation writing about surf life saving.

Goal: Doing a beginning and conclusion.

Do you know how to bound and catch a wave on a Foamy/

fiberglass? No, well let me teach you.

Firstly get a board to fit your size.

Then you carry your board out (shin deep) and then you put your hands side by side on each parallel line of the board.

While you do that push down with a strong grip and kick your feet off the ground while thoroughly gliding the board through the waves.

Then you kick up onto your knees and start paddling ( keep your hands in a cuff shape so the water doesn't glide straight through your fingers.)

Once you're neck deep get a head start and paddle 7 seconds before the wave comes so you can just glide straight down on it.

While you are on the wave lean slightly back so you don’t nose dive.

There you have it now you know how some surf life saving works!

Here is my measurement reflection.

 Measurement Reflection -

My strengths

Well I personally think Reading scales,Reading temperature and estimating and converting between measurements because I got them all right on both tests.

Goals

My goal is probably still calculating area but I have gotten much better at that than the first test. On the first test I got 0/4 but on the second test I got 2/4 and I am much happier.

What helped me

I think attending all the workshops on my goal/s improved my learning much more, the workshops I attended were Area and Perimeter and Calculating volume. The mathletics tasks also helped me.

Preparing

I think all I need to prepare is Calculating Volume because I don't want to be learning that next year at gisint so I want it to be packed down at the highest I can get it so I am certain I get 100%.

What the teachers did well in, and what they need to work on

Well in my opinion I thought Mr S workshop was  too simple because I went there because I already knew how to do it but I wanted it at its highest, but on the other hand I didn't really understand Mr K workshop because he was going quite fast but I did pick up a bit of knowledge from the workshop, but I would of liked a smaller group to be doing it so I could get 1 on 1. But overall it was pretty great

Conclusion

I hope you now know my goals and strengths.

How to look after Rosa.

Here's how to look after my cute fluffy, feisty fluff ball cat called Rosa.

Equipment and material needed:

1 Cat food.

2 Water.

3 Bowl.

4 Brush.

5 Sashay.

6 Cat litter.

  1. Firstly try to find Rosa and make sure she is ok ( she is probably lying in the sun on the tiles asleep), once you find her, get the gray cat brush and lightly brush all the loose fur off of her.

  2. Once you have done that fill 1 of the little bowls on her yellow food bowl up to the top,the nuts will be up on the top white shelf,  while she is eating if her water bowl isn't full enough tip the old water down the sink and fill it up ⅞ of the way with refreshing cold water so it can lasts her for a couple of days.

  3. While she finishes her nuts you can give her a sashay which is found in the long white cupboard, she likes every flavor in the box so don't be worried if she won't like it.

  4. If the cat litter has been used for 2-4 days, scoop out the old litter and pour it in the bin, once you have done that refill the box ½ of the way with the lavender colored litter which is located in the white cupboard (where the sashays are.)

  5. Some nights she might have a cat fight so in the morning check if she has any scratches and make sure she is still happy, if she isn't make sure the cat/dog is not still on the property.

  6. Thats it have fun!
